As a real estate agent, you know the business is all about helping people buy and sell properties. However, you also know that some agents are unable to get the job done. So what’s the deal? Why are some agents so successful while others struggle? Today, we’re here to talk about the top three reasons why real estate agents fail:

1. They don’t treat this like a business. Too many agents have no idea what their expenses and return on investment are. You need to track things thoroughly and consider real estate as a real business.

2. They have a passive approach to lead generation. Too many agents see people on Instagram and TikTok, thinking they can just post cute videos online and wait for business to fall from the sky. Unfortunately, that isn’t how things work. Social media can be a part of your lead generation strategy, but make sure there is more to your marketing and that you have a balanced approach to growing your business.

“Too many agents enter the industry, not realizing what it takes to succeed.”

3. They come in with unrealistic expectations. Too many agents enter the industry, not realizing what it takes to succeed. A lot of people choose this profession because they want a better work-life balance and want to make a lot of money with very little work. However, that’s not how things work. One great piece of advice is to give this job your all for about 18 to 24 months to build a foundation. As with any new business, getting it off the ground takes a lot of time and energy. We recommend committing yourself to at least two years of focus, time, and effort.
